Walking in the footsteps of your worth, at this Mabon solar festival.

17/09/2022 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Saturday 17th September 2022
2pm-5pm

Walk in the footsteps of players at this solar festival. Greet the seven centres of your own worth, and as we walk, we'll talk of abundance.

Take a sacred walk through hidden London with me.

Join us on this pilgrimage through the fascinating city landscape of the players of London. A walking route that is as joyful and entertaining as well as inspirational. We will walk from The Globe on the Southbank through to Canonbury Tower in Islington.

We will walk the same journey as many of the actors of London, use the potential of pilgrimage and walking, to know the worth of ourselves and what we want to create at this solar festival of Mabon.

The Festival of Mabon or the Festival of Consummation (September 21st) celebrates the mid point or equinox of the season of autumn. We see the days and the nights being of equal length and feel the balance, as the sun hands over to the moon.

It is a time of completion, when all of us falls and we can then choose what it is that we gather to take forward. It is the time of the apple and it is the time when we set the standard of our worth. To see ourselves and the worth we bring to the world.

Pilgrimage.

London-based landscape designer Jeremy Rye will be leading guided tours of the four London walks that were known to Kings and Queens since the beginning of the monarchy in England.

These spiritual walks were undertaken by the monarchs and the landscape keepers of the time. They would journey at specific points in their reign, at certain times of the year or for the marking of events. These were not only a means of navigating a city but seen as instrumental in maintaining its health, spiritual and commercial success.

Unlike a typical history tour, this is an opportunity for participants to mirror these spiritual journeys, in part to strengthen our sense of self, answer questions we have and to transform. They are an ideal companion to other self-reflection practices such as journaling, therapy or meditation.

Jeremy Rye is a practicing landscape architect who integrates history and spirituality in his work.

Route:

This is one of four sacred walks in London that crosses the city and will start at the Globe Theatre on Bankside and walk north through the Templar palace at Smithfield and onto the Canonbury Tower in Islington. There will be seven stops made along the way where Jeremy will both point out historic architectural features, their history and their connection to a spiritual question. Participants are invited to use these stops not only to listen but find answers for themselves.
