Walking in the footsteps of your year, at this Samhain Solar Festival

29/10/2022 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

We take a sacred walk through London and greet the seven centres in the land and within you. We'll talk on November, its gifts and insights.

Take a sacred walk through hidden London with me. A pilgrimage through the fascinating city landscape of London.

Traveled by generations of Monarchs to know themselves. We will walk the same journey, use the potential of pilgrimage and walking to access our inner peace and hopes at this solar festival of Samhain.

This is a sacred walk in preparation for the solar Festival of Samhain. The Samhain Festival, also known as the Festival of Peace, celebrates the end of autumn and the beginning of winter. It marks a completion of the time of action and marks the start of the time of rest or peace. A point where inner reflection becomes the focus and allows us to begin to prepare the foundations ready for the new beginnings and the next phase of the wheel of the year.

This is the time of the year to show appreciation for all that has taken you to this point. To see your achievements and to set a dedication for the productive period of the darker time of the year. We are beginning a time that enriches all around us and begins a time of celebration, appreciation and letting go of the old.

I have always seen it as a moment to focus on what strengthens us and where we need to put more focus. Strengthening our foundations – where we work from and our self belief. Strengthening our connections – who supports our work and our ability to notice and strengthening our intentions – the passion that drives us forward. Giving ourselves, within this stage of the wheel, the space to allow these strengths to restructure and work together to provide the clarity we need to move forward in our lives.

Pilgrimage

London-based landscape designer Jeremy Rye will be leading guided tours of the four London walks that were known to Kings and Queens since the beginning of the monarchy in England.

These spiritual walks were undertaken by the monarchs and the landscape keepers of the time. They would journey at specific points in their reign, at certain times of the year or for the marking of events. These were not only a means of navigating a city but seen as instrumental in maintaining its health, spiritual and commercial success.

Unlike a typical history tour, this is an opportunity for participants to mirror these spiritual journeys, in part to strengthen our sense of self, answer questions we have and to transform. They are an ideal companion to other self-reflection practices such as journaling, therapy or meditation.

Jeremy Rye is a practicing landscape architect who integrates history and spirituality in his work.

Route

This is one of four sacred walks in London that crosses the city and will start at the Tower of London and end at Westminster Abbey. There will be seven stops made along the way where Jeremy will both point out historic architectural features, their history and their connection to a spiritual question. Participants are invited to use these stops not only to listen but find answers for themselves.

Accessibility

The walk will take on average 3 hours with a break and is not wheelchair accessible.

The walk will take part no matter the weather and tickets are non-refundable.
