Event format: A meditation in song and dance with Anam Cora with six singers who blend their voices, to reflect harmony, compassion and balance, in song and chant and silence. There will be a pilgrimage in the morning in Beccles.
This year our autumn equinox pilgrimage is one of 12 events taking place around the country, one each month. The idea is to form a “wheel of Life” in the landscape, with a pilgrimage walk followed by a creative event such as circle dancing or singing in a sacred place.
We shall meet at 2 pm at St Michael’s Church and Tower, Beccles,
which is on the main Michael ley line. Then we will go for a 2 mile walk along the Anglian Way, which meanders through the town and along the river and fields.
There should then be an hour to explore Beccles or have a break, before the next event at 5 pm in Holy Trinity Church in Barsham, where there will be a sung meditation with Anam Cora, See the attached flier.
Tea and refreshments will be available in the church from about 4.45pm
The sung meditation with Anam Cora starts at 5.30 sharp, (this is important so that the silent meditation is during the sun’s illumination - provided it is shining of course.) After the silence there will be singing for everybody to join in if they wish.
A tip for Gatekeepers - the best place to sit to see the illumination is on the left side of the nave.
Directions:
Barsham Church is on the B1062 road from Beccles to Bungay, in a field by itself, down a turning to the right 1 ½ miles from Beccles. Look out for a small sign to the right saying Barsham Church.
