St. Michael’s Way Pilgrimage

22/10/2016 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

You are warmly invited to join the Parallel Community for a silent walk starting at Treviscoe, Trencrom to St. Michaels Mount in Marion, October 22nd, 2016.

There is always a time in life when we are ready to make a pilgrimage hoping to get a glimpse of what the journey is and connect our steps to our heart awareness. The pilgrimage calls us to leave modern life, get out of our busy world and minds, get away from the noise of daily life and journey into the wilderness of a remote countryside. As a pilgrim, one quickly realizes that in making a pilgrimage, it is also an inner pilgrimage, an inner journey which can be equally transforming.

Let’s take a journey at our doorstep into the Michael’s Way from Trencrom to St Michael’s Mount. Following into the footsteps of many pilgrims over the last centuries, we shall walk those few miles in silence with the common intention of carrying the peace of our steps into the heart of humanity alongside our own personal intention for inner transformation and heart resolution. The purpose of walking as a group will reinforce the intent and intention of our hearts for our common purpose as well as our individual one and walking in silence and heart awareness will align our footsteps and our soul intention to the heartbeat of the earth and the surrounding nature and elements. During the walk there will be stop off points for shared reflection and lunch.

Time : 10am-4pm, meet at 9.30am at Treviscoe, Lelant Downs, Hayle TR27 6NP
Length: 7 miles, mostly even
Bring: Your own snacks, drinks and picnic lunch to carry with you.
Costs: Suggested donation of £5. Proceedings will go to Médecins Sans Frontières
Dogs: We may be walking through fields with livestock; please no dogs on this walk.

ADDRESS: Treviscoe, Lelant Downs, Hayle, TR27 6 NP Cornwall. Directions are below.

Coming from the A30, follow the A3074 St Ives road and, at the second roundabout, swing sharp left on the Mill Hill road, past the Watermill pub towards Lelant Downs (this road is signposted to the Tate St Ives). After the Sunny Meadows caravanning site on your left at Lelant Downs, watch out for a left turn signposted Cripplesease and turn off there (DO NOT take the lane signposted Trencrom). Follow the country lane uphill until you reach the National Trust car park on your right at the top of the lane. Park at the NT car park and walk along the country lane for a couple of yards until you reach the driveway signposted Treviscoe on your left. Walk into the driveway and take the first pathway to the right, then keep right, and the short woodland path will lead you to the Hopi circle where we gather. You’ll probably see and hear us there.

There will be a lovely opportunity for those who want to come on the pilgrimage with Parallel Community to listen to some background information; there will be an illustrated talk about the history and mystery of the St. Michaels Way by Prof. Michelle Brown.
