Exploring the Sacred in the Landscape

Come to the Gatekeeper Trust’s annual Pilgrims’ Weekend for an informative, uplifting and friendly two days in the glorious setting of Avebury and the Marlborough Downs landscapes.
Enjoy good company, with talks and guided pilgrimages by Peter Dawkins and David Furlong.

Experience Paneurhythmy with Sarah Dawkins: a joyful, meditational exercise-dance, performed outdoors. which focuses on achieving inner balance and harmonization between ourselves and nature.

The weekend will draw on a decade of work in the sacred landscape of Wiltshire, and the themes of the annual Gatekeeper conference in Pewsey, as well as providing an opportunity to share your own and others’ research and pilgrimages in local areas.


Friday evening

Visit to the source springs of the Hampshire Avon at Alton Priors. Meeting point St Mary’s Church, Alton Barnes at 5.30pm.


Morning: Avebury Social Centre:

  • Sarah Dawkins - Paneurhythmy in Avebury Henge


  • Tour of Avebury stone circle, led by Peter Dawkins
  • Tea, then return to Lockeridge for:
  • Peter Dawkins - ‘The British Zodiac’


Morning: Avebury Social Centre:

  • David Furlong - ‘Sacred Geometry in the Marlborough Downs’
  • Charlotte Yonge, Gail Smalley, Angela Shaw - Update on the Avon Landscape Grail and other local area reports.

Afternoon: Optional visit to a sacred site in the Marlborough Downs landscape.

on a first-come, first-served basis is at 2 properties situated alongside the beautiful Lockeridge Dene, lying directly on the Michael Line. Depending on numbers, a third location within the Avebury Henge is available.
