AVEBURY & THE MARLBOROUGH DOWNS
POSTPONED to April 9-11, 2021
From Cosmos to Planet, Revelations in Nature
Exploring the Sacred in the Landscape
Come to the Gatekeeper Trust’s annual Pilgrims’ Weekend for an informative, uplifting and friendly gathering in Avebury and the Marlborough Downs landscapes.
Enjoy inspiring talks and pilgrimages guided by Peter Dawkins and David Furlong. Experience Paneurhythmy with Sarah Dawkins – a joyful meditational exercise-dance, performed outdoors, which focuses on achieving inner balance and harmonization between ourselves and nature.
The weekend will draw on a decade of work in the sacred landscape of Wiltshire, and the themes of the annual Gatekeeper conference in Pewsey, as well as providing an opportunity to share your own and others’ research and pilgrimages in local areas.
You may wish to join us for tea at Honey Street Mill Café (SN9 5PS) at 4pm, followed by a visit to the source springs of the Hampshire Avon at Alton Priors. Meeting point: St Mary’s Saxon Church, Alton Barnes at 5.30pm.
Morning: Avebury Social Centre:
- Peter Dawkins – ‘The Grail of Avebury’
- Sarah Dawkins – Paneurhythmy in Avebury Henge
- Tour of Avebury stone circle, led by Peter Dawkins
- Tea, then to Lockeridge for:
- Peter Dawkins – ‘The British Zodiac’
Morning: Avebury Social Centre:
- David Furlong – ‘Sacred geometry in the Marlborough Downs’
- Charlotte Yonge, Gail Smalley, Angela Shaw – Update on the Avon Landscape Grail and other local area reports.
Afternoon: Optional visit to a sacred site in the Marlborough Downs landscape.
(Programme detail may be subject to change)
Available on a first-come, first-served basis, at 2 properties situated alongside the beautiful Lockeridge Dene, lying directly on the Michael Current. Depending on numbers, a third location within the Avebury Henge is available.
