Blessing the Spring of the River Bourne, Eastbourne

Due to the uncertainty we are all presently experiencing, we shall possibly meet in The Lamb Inn, the oldest pub in Eastbourne, dating back to 1180. https://www.thelambeastbourne.co.uk/ It has a fascinating history before that and was once linked by a tunnel to the church next door. Sadly, we will not be able to explore its crypt, but we will hopefully be able to enjoy it’s surprisingly beautiful energy whilst having lunch. If not, then we can meet just outside by the Yew who Gatekeeps for the church next door and decide where to have a picnic!

We will then visit St Mary the Virgin next door, the parish church of Eastbourne whose records go back to 1053. It too has a beautiful energy, which we can then take to the nearby source of the River Bourne as a blessing. Sadly, the river has mostly been covered over but the spring is now a pond in a gentle park which boasts an historic dovecote.

...some may like to investigate?

We complete the triangle with a walk back to the pub and a sharing of our experiences. The short walk is very easy but parking not so good, being a question of finding a place in a residential area. Excellent bus service from the station though.

Donations for the Gatekeeper Trust charity will be welcome on the day.
