This is a workshop where we come together for the Solar Festival of Imbolc. We will go on a journey of awakening, testing and release, to clarify the dedications we must make to this time of year. We will release what no longer serves us, and grieve for what the winters work has gifted us but that must be let go of, if we are to grow and embrace this spring.
Using meditation, celebration and ritual to honour this point in the wheel of the year, we will create a ritual that will gather all we need to move forwards with our purpose. This is a blessed time of year and we mark the start of spring and the return of growth.
The Festival of Imbolc or the Festival of Dedication (February 1st) celebrates that shift point from the season of winter into the season of spring. We see nature begin to reveal its next phase, with the arrival of green shoots emerging from the soil.
We in turn, responding to natures wheel, are offered the opportunity to reveal ourselves and our desires at this time in the form of dedications. These dedications are a reaffirmation of our dedication to service of the greater good and more personal dedications to what it is we want to work with, manifest and create within our lives. It is time to set down a marker for the year around which we can focus our growth and show our commitment to where we want to go. Once commitments are made, then the all else can flow in supporting those aims.
In the latter part of winter’s season, we have been invited to consider what it is we want and to form those clear intentions into what we reveal of ourselves now and publicly state. Like Persephone returning from the underworld, this is our moment to be seen and heard and to see that shift in ourselves from our winter inner work to the spring and the beginnings of a new period of growth.
These dedications also mark a final point of realisation and release. In knowing where we are going or committing to this journey, then we can see what we carry that no longer serves us. This is the moment when we embark on “spring cleaning” like the tradition suggests, we work on ourselves to clean and cleanse all that we are and only take forward that which will really serve us.
Jeremy Rye
Jeremy Rye is wedded to the land. From this heartfelt commitment comes his passion to strengthen our
connection to the land and its cycles. Through his endeavours as an accomplished designer and landscape architect he has brought into being sensitive landscapes that are places where purpose and beauty align. He believes that in creating these landscapes all of nature, and those that experiences these places, can become open and access answers to their deepest needs.
Fascinated by ancient wisdoms of how we have worked with the land for thousands of years, he has studied and walked the path to understanding; how we are all inextricably linked to the land on which we walk and
through that to nature in its entirety. This knowledge is distilled now into his teaching and healing work; re-establishing subconscious knowledge that we have set aside; reconnecting us to the tools to lead a life of balance and well-being; helping us to achieve our goals and potential.
He wants people to connect deeply to the land and use the physical landscape and the cycles of the year to connect into their inner landscape. He helps people do this through pilgrimage, the art of walking with intention, and has successfully run “Dragon Walk” pilgrimages through London’s historic pathways. Under the title of “Walking with Nature’s Hand”, he works with groups, teaching the land arts of celebrating solar festivals, walking with trees, meditations and planetary rituals.
He has lectured in Britain, Europe and America on these topics and is currently writing a book as a guide to receiving nature’s gifts for personal growth and well-being. A second on the symbolism and working with trees is in joyful research and demands continuing close communication with the many species of trees that share our occupation of this land. When not working, he can be found enjoying a good book and a cup of coffee.

Stevie Henden
I am a born and bred South Londoner, who re-evaluated my priorities, during the pandemic, and up rooted myself to East Sussex. With my husband, we live on the edge of Ashdown forest which is a stunningly beautiful part of the High Weald. We are surrounded by woodland and love the fresh air and the strong connection with nature- Apart from getting cross with the deer when they munch on the herbaceous borders in my garden !
My pathway to the spiritual world began many years ago, with a visit to Glastonbury where I discovered its powerful, multi layered magic for the first time. Although, in truth, the magical and mystical intrigued me before that, as a child, being that some of my mother’s family are psychic. Glastonbury opened up new vistas for me, the amazing energy of Chalice well and the different but equally wonderful energy of the Tor, touched something very deeply in my soul. Glastonbury with its mix of pre Christian and Christian lore, epitomises one of my core beliefs, that all Gods are as one but are approached through different paths.
Later, my belief and understanding were furthered by joining a neo pagan/Wiccan group, where I learned about the elements, the celebration of the wheel of the year and the working of ritual to celebrate each solar festival. Having once worked in these ways, a bell is always loudly ringing to be called back to the work- even though some years elapsed before I did this.
Latterly, I found myself studying mediumship at the Kensington College Of Psychic studies and through this, I deepened my understanding of the spiritual path. There is a really delicious bit of synchronicity connecting where I live, with the College. One of the Colleges prominent leaders was Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, who lived in Crowborough which is my nearest town. Not only that, it said that he conducted seances on the Golf Course which is immediately behind my house ! I love synchronicity, everything is connected. We are all connected.
I have been privileged to be running a development circle with Jeremy and Michelle for the last couple of years, as part of the Tri consciousness team , as well as celebrating solar festivals. This work will continue to expand my understanding, but also I hope to bring some of my own to others.
My belief system has only strengthened over the years, I have a strong sense of connection with Gods/Goddesses, a trust in the infinite and a heartfelt assurance that they will continue to guide me at my most difficult times. I have faced times of severe trauma and I am absolutely sure that on occasion during this, I received divine intervention to guide my hand, when making particular choices. My family and loved ones in spirit are also a great guidance to me, my dear Mother and Father are present with me often, and my much loved first partner Vince is prone to getting his word in too. I feel blessed to have such a wonderful team!
In my spiritual work I want to continue to do, I very much wish to bring my strong beliefs about the Gods, but also in a more material sense, my deep understanding of the corrosive effect of trauma and how we can try and turn it to our benefit. Our shadows do not fade, yet we learn that over time they can be the counterpoint to our light side, and bring a great clarity to our lives.
