Gatekeeper Trust are very pleased to announce our 6th online conference on the theme of Gateways. We have invited six speakers to share their thoughts and experiences of Gateways – a theme that is especially relevant in these changing times.

Gateways hold the liminal space between what is, what has been and what is yet to come. They are loci of becoming, a place to pause and reflect before choosing to enter through these portals to new potential, experiences and knowledge. The Gatekeeper awaits you there.

"Water, Our Evolving Relationship"
A Living Journey into Observation, Perception, and Water’s True Nature

This opening talk explores how our relationship with water changes as our ways of observing, thinking, and participating in the natural world evolve, allowing new qualities of perception and questions to emerge. Matt will journey from the wider context of water’s cosmic origins and humanity’s place within nature, to the direct observation of water’s living expressions as they reveal themselves in the thresholds between cosmos, sky, and Earth.

Matt Thornton is a water researcher, water sommelier, aviator, cosmologist, and sky-observer. Through interdisciplinary study and lived encounter, he investigates water not merely as a physical substance, but as a living threshold between cosmic forces, geological biography, landscape, human consciousness, sensory attention, and the formative processes of life.

Peter Dawkins
"Portland, a Gateway. The Importance of Stone"

Peter will share his insights into Portland and the Memory Stones, which he has visited a number of times and considers to have huge significance. Dorset’s Jurassic Coast remains England’s only natural World Heritage Site, with Portland at its centre. The look out view from the crown of Tout Quarry encompasses 96 miles of coastline and a timeline of 185 million years. Peter will continue the interview he gave at last year’s Sacred Space conference.

"Gateway Herbs Are Guiding Us in Our Next Evolution"

Throughout evolution, plants have always prepared the way for what comes next. Today, as humanity stands at a threshold of profound change, our next great evolution is spiritual—remembering our place within the web of Nature and stepping into the New Earth story of Interbeing. At this threshold, a circle of plants known as Gateway Herbs is emerging as wise guides. Together, we will explore a few of these forerunner herbs, each carrying a unique medicine for the journey ahead.

Pam Montgomery is an herbalist, author, international teacher and Earth elder who has been investigating plants and their intelligent spiritual nature for more than four decades. Mary Berkery
"Horses as Threshold Guides"

As humanity navigates one of the most profound thresholds in living memory, horses are emerging once again as guides. These ancient and mystical beings have long dwelt at the edge of worlds, alert to what we cannot see and responsive to what we cannot yet name.

Drawing on horses as threshold guides and carriers of wisdom within Celtic mythology and ancient sacred traditions, Mary will explore how their wisdom, presence and finely tuned awareness can assist us to open courageously to the multisensory realms within and around us and assist in navigating our way across through these threshold times into what is waiting to become.

Mary Berkery is a Sacred Guide, Equine-Assisted Learning Facilitator and Intuitive Soul Coach. She has spent her life working at the intersection of nature’s wisdom, the human soul and ancient sacred traditions. She is a TEDx speaker, presenting Horses as Mirrors, and the author of Saved by a Horse: Stories of Love, Healing and Transformation Through Horses. Louise Coe
"Winter and the Dreamtime of the Year"

The stillness and quiet of the Holy Nights begin on Christmas Eve Night and end on Twelfth Night, the eve of Epiphany. They take us on a journey from innocence to wisdom. All the mystery schools mark this time as the most potent for prayer and contemplation. Nowadays the mystery and power of this time can get lost as we get caught up in providing Christmas “with all the trimmings”. Louise will share her understanding of the winter season and the Holy Nights.

Louise Coe is a long-time Friend of Gatekeeper who has for many years been the conference convener. She lives by the cycle of the year, inspired by her experiences at Sussex Steiner schools that her children and grandchildren attend, that follow the festivals through the year, connecting children to the rhythms of nature. She trained with Denise Linn and is qualified to practise Advanced Interior Alignment and Space Clearing which again work with cycles of time and circles of space. She is a writer and currently writing about the Winter Cycle in the year that she will be speaking about.

Rupert Sheldrake
"To Be a Pilgrim"

Pilgrimage is deeply archetypal, found in all religious traditions. The revival of pilgrimage in Britain is enabling many people to reconnect with the land and with holy places through walking with intention, which is what distinguishes pilgrimages from a stroll. Spirituality is about connection and pilgrimage is a powerful spiritual practice because it helps to reconnect us with the land, with holy places, with our fellow pilgrims and with ourselves.

Rupert Sheldrake is a scientist, educated at Cambridge and Harvard, whose research into parapsychology and evolution led to the theory of morphic resonance, expounded in the book A New Science of Life. The theory posits that "memory is inherent in nature". One of the world’s most innovative biologists and writers, Rupert has written more than 100 scientific papers and 9 books translated round the world. His career has been a continual quest to explore phenomena that science finds hard to explain.
