Report of the Trustees of the Gatekeeper Trust – December 2025

Overview and Review of Activities

Gatekeeper Trust continues its educational focus making the healing of planet, place and people available to a wider audience. The monthly newsletters from Rose Williams and Charlotte Yonge bring news of Gatekeeper Trust and associated events and reveal ongoing research into the land. Relationships and collaborations continue to emerge and evolve.

Our thanks go to local contacts who have led pilgrimages in their own areas and introduced others to their native spirit of place. During 2025 Caroline Weatherby combined Gatekeeper pilgrimages with the Troubadour Trail Group events and generously offered three walks in the Norfolk/Suffolk area. Vicky Wade led two summer walks around the Staffordshire & Derbyshire borders. Guidance is available for those who might like to share their landscapes with others.

Celtic Fire Festivals: Beltane and Samhain

The bi-annual events using Light and Sound in the Land to create unifying energetic networks continued both in the British Isles and abroad. Together these simple ceremonies mark the rhythm of the yearly cycle and provide a pause and point of connection and expansion.

The Spring festival Imbolc was marked by a talk on Creating Mandalas with Charlotte Yonge.

Collaborations:

Sarah Dawkins continued to lead Paneurhythmy sacred dancing to connect with nature at White Eagle Lodge throughout this year. She offered an inspirational day combining the teachings of Peter Deunov with the teachings of White Eagle in August, celebrating these two harmonious spiritual traditions.

Andrew Clark continued to lead sacred songs, chants and harmonies Singing from the Heart in beautiful venues across the country.

The collaboration with Portland Sculpture & Quarry Trust on the Isle of Portland continues.

Peter Dawkins kindly carried out an energetic investigation of the Green Corridor pathway which has helped identify energy nodes and inform the siting of outdoor learning spaces. The carving of the Gatekeeper butterfly onto the Gatekeeper Stone was commenced, honouring the east-facing direction of this stone guardian who greets the rising sun. Further clearance work match Gatekeeper Trust’s contribution. The proposed procession to inaugurate the Brunsden Stone did not receive funding so has been postponed until next year.

The installation of the archway portal is nearing the drawing board stage and it is hoped work will commence on installation of this important lower portal in 2026.

Other relationships and collaborations built up over time continue to flourish. Gatekeeper Trust friends such as Gary Biltcliffe and Caroline Hoare led The Cloud on the Spine of Albion Walk with Cheshire Dowsers. Stone Seekers Peter Knight and Sue Wallace have shared many of their events with us, as has John Wadsworth, Will Parsons, and the Network of Ley Hunters.

Some from Gatekeeper Trust joined Gary Biltcliffe and Caroline Hoare with the Network of Ley Hunters in Lindisfarne and the Scottish Borders on the first part of the Holy Axis.tour.

We have been privileged to work with many guides through our pilgrimage work and trust these networks will continue to expand. The annual conference provided a great opportunity for us to come together

Gatekeeper Conference – Sacred Space

Our thanks go to the speakers who shared their wisdom and experiences of sacred space in its many forms, and also to the Gatekeeper Trust Team who made this conference, the 5th online, possible. Much planning and coordination was led by our Treasurer and Trustee Mike Newton to whom we are especially grateful. It is still possible to watch the talks – link above.

  • Charlotte Yonge: Gatekeeper Trust newsletter Co-Editor
  • Jane Withers: Gatekeeper Trust Facebook page Editor

To keep the energy flowing and resonating outward, the Gatekeeper trustees and team would appreciate your input and support. Please share your gifts with us…. whether it’s combining with others or doing your own connecting with sacred space. Every intentional act of love and service to the land counts.

We hope the Gatekeeper Trust enriches your lives. To carry forward this positive contribution we do need new people to become involved in shaping and managing Gatekeeper Trust. This service could be as a trustee or in any specific capacity such as publicity and marketing, or in offerings. We welcome new ideas. Unlike many other small charities in these times, we are financially sound and have the resources to fund our future.

To find out more, or to attend a Trustees' Meeting to see how we work at first hand, without any obligation, then please contact us via the secretary at secretary@gatekeeper.org

Treasurer's Report

The Trust's financial year runs from April 1st to March 31st. The Trustees continue to keep the financial position of the Trust under review, balancing our fiduciary responsibilities with the need to promote our charitable objectives.

The summarised financial results for the year ended March 31st 2025 are set out in the attachment to this report. In other areas costs continue to increase and the Trustees monitor the financial status of the Trust at every meeting and take appropriate decisions to support the financial health of the Trust. We look for cost savings where we can.

The ethical one- year bond at an enhanced interest rate has been renewed and continues to have a major impact in the current financial year, increasing interest received by over £3,000.

Overall, we remain in a strong financial position with substantial reserves to support our activities.
