Lantern Walk to the Bullstones Stone Circle

29/05/2018

Part of the Wheel of Life Programme 2018.

GEMINI: Pilgrimage to the Bullstones Stone Circle, Macclesfield – Charlotte Yonge

A LANTERN WALK to the Bullstones Circle celebrating Gemini, the symbol for our ‘inner innovator’ or creative communicator, the skill of conjuring the plan of action for our seed vision. It also represents the dialogue between our dual personalities of intuition and rationality, a skill of interpreting vision into plans and process.

This is an easily accessible circle, within a 15 minute walk from the layby. The Bullstones ring and standing stone are located on the eastern flank of Brown Hill with an uninterrupted view through approximately 180 degrees, taking in the Peak District in the East and the Welsh hills in the West.

Directions: From the A54 Congleton to Buxton Road (Axe Edge), heading towards Buxton, turn left onto the minor road just after The Fourways Motel in Wincle (GR: SJ953672). Follow this lane for approximately 700m until you come to an informal lay-by opposite the junction with Withenshaw Lane. Park here and take the southern most footpath across the fields (not the metalled road). After crossing two stiles, the centre stone will be visible on the horizon.(Megalithic Portal)
