Lantern Walk to Mitchell’s Fold Stone Circle

03/04/2018 @ 11:00 am - 3:00 pm

Part of the Wheel of Life Programme 2018.

ARIES: Pilgrimage to Mitchell’s Fold Stone Circle, Shropshire – Charlotte Yonge

A LANTERN WALK to Michell’s Fold Stone circle south of Shrewsbury Tuesday 3rd.

The poetic flow of the landscape and its potential for artistic expression is what formed the origins of the Gatekeeper Trust in the Blue Mountains of Wales. The stone circle overlooks the mountains of Snowdon and Cader Idris, a direct line of sight along the legendary A5 road along which the ‘Blessed’ King Bran's head, was carried from Ireland to the Tower of London. This was also the route in which gold mined in Ireland was transported to London. Aries our ‘inner warrior’ speaks of passion and mental focus in the face of obstacles: retelling the stories of ‘Arthurian’ quests relating to our own spiritual adventures enhances our personal vision questing during Humanity's troubled times. Meet at the car park at 11am. There is a short fairly flat walk, which can be windy. Bring picnic, wet weather clothes and walking boots.

Directions: Stapeley Hill, (off the A488 near turning to Shelve) Priest Weston, Montgomery, Shropshire, SY15 6DE. A parking area is available at the end of the track. Cars are not permitted beyond the cattle grid onto the moorland. The stone circle can be found by following the track from the car park, north east over the brow of the hill for 300 metres.

Please apply to the secretary for further information.
